The Fifth HKUST Summer Workshop in Macroeconomics
June 21 -
22, 2016
Transportation:
From
the Hong Kong International Airport to The Hotel:
Taxi is the easiest means
of transport from the airport to the hotel. Take a RED taxi (don't take
Green or Blue-coloured taxi, as they are
restricted to travel in the New Territories and Lantau Island
respectively) at the designated taxi stand of the airport directly to
HKUST; the cost is approximately HK$300 (US$38.5), and the travel time is
about 40 minutes.
Please note that the taxi
driver will punch in the toll charges onto
the meter and show you the exact total amount you need to pay. Tipping is
not customary, you only need to round up to the next dollar. Taxis
typically do not accept credit cards, so please have HK dollars in cash
available. please collect a receipt from the taxi driver.
Taxi drivers in Hong Kong
may not communicate well in English. You might need to print this Taxi Driver
Instructions (written in Chinese), and show it to the
taxi driver after boarding.
Between
the University and downtown:
A taxi from the University
campus to Kowloon/Hong Kong costs HK$150-200 (approximately US$20-25). The nearest
subway stations to the University are found at Hang Hau
and Choi Hung. From Hang Hau, you can reach the
University using buses/mini-buses 91M, 11, 11M or 11S. From Choi
Hung, you can reach the University using buses/mini-buses
91, 91M, 11 or 11S. A taxi from Hang Hau
